Parent/Guardians

Southside School is completing the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing from December 9-16th. This test measures the progress and growth of individual students. This test provides important academic information that is used to inform grade-level instruction and interventions.

The MAP test in reading and math needs to be completed by ALL students enrolled at Southside School. We ask that the parents/guardians of the OPT-OUT STUDENTS please bring your child in on the day and time listed below:

  • Kindergarten --- Wednesday, December 9th from 10:15-12:30
  • First Grade ---     Monday, December 14th from 10:15-12:30
  • Second Grade --- Tuesday, December 15th from 10:15-12:30
  • Third Grade --- Wednesday, December 16th from 10:15-12:30

The test will not take the entire time so we will contact you as soon as your child has completed the testing and you can come pick them up. Please have your child here to start the test at 10:15.

Southside School respects and understands the concern for your child safety. The test will be administered in the computer lab. There will be a very limited number of students testing at a time. Surfaces will be sanitized prior to your child entering the computer lab. UV lighting will be used each night for added precautions.

If you have any questions or concerns about MAP testing please contact your child’s teacher. Thank you for helping us provide the best education possible for your child.
